Human Creative Oversight Standard (HCOS) Self-Assessment

This questionnaire is used by producers, directors, and auditors to calculate the Human Creative Oversight Standard (HCOS) score for a media production. To qualify for the AIMEG Certification Mark ("AI Production: AIMEG Certified"), a production must score a minimum of 70 out of 100 points across the five dimensions below.

Dimension 1: Concept & Story (Max: 20 Points)

  • Q1.1: What is the origin of the core project concept, outline, or treatment?

    • 100% human-conceived and human-written (10 Points)
    • Human-conceived, but AI-assisted outline generation (5 Points)
    • Fully AI-generated concept/treatment (0 Points)

  • Q1.2: How was the final screenplay, script, or text written?

    • Written 100% by human writers; AI used only for basic grammar/spelling checks (10 Points)
    • Written by humans, but AI used to brainstorm scenes or draft dialogues (5 Points)
    • Script generated by AI with minimal human editing (0 Points)

Dimension 2: Creative Direction & Leadership (Max: 20 Points)

  • Q2.1: Is there a designated human Director or Creative Director leading the project?

    • Yes, a human director is credited and holds final creative cut/approval (10 Points)
    • No designated human director; creative decisions are automated or peer-voted (0 Points)

  • Q2.2: Are the primary department heads (cinematography, editing, sound, VFX) human?

    • Yes, human heads of department manage and direct the AI pipeline tools (10 Points)
    • No, the production pipeline runs autonomously without human department heads (0 Points)
